Butterfly Life Cycle Writing

Do you know how a butterfly is made? I do, first the butterfly lays the egg on the underside of a leaf to keep it safe. The egg is the size of a sesame seed! After a few days the egg will hatch and a tiny caterpillar will emerge and eat its egg as its first  snack.

After the egg is finished and the caterpillar moves on to the leaves of the swan plant where it was laid. As it grows the skin of the caterpillar starts to shed every time it sheds means that a new life stage has begins this called instar.

Once the caterpillar is fully grown it finds a safe branch or twig to hang on and make its chrysalis which takes a few days. When the time is right the butterfly will break out of the chrysalis it will take a few minutes for the blood to flow into the wings when it is ready it will fly off and start a new life as a butterfly.
